LSSU Coach Jim Roque: August 12th Interview
WKNW out of Sault Ste. Marie, home of Lake Superior State University, has an interview from August 12th with LSSU Lakers coach Jim Roque about a variety of topics. As you’d expect, talk turned to our situation here at UAH. Here, excerpted to save you time, are Roque’s comments:

Roque seems to be positive that UAH has a shot, but he cites concerns about the viability of other CCHA member schools, specifically Bowling Green State University, in the near-term. Roque believes the Chargers will eventually become CCHA members.
So, it sounds like Lake State is in our corner. But if you wanted to firm this up a bit, here are the people to contact:

If you contact either individual, please make sure to do the following things:
- Be positive. This is not the time to bash the CCHA. This is the place we wanted to call home. Disagree with the decision, not the decision-makers.
- Tell them you stand strong with UAH hockey. If you’re a UAH alum, student, parent, or fan, state that relationship. If you’re with another school, make that known, too.
- Thank them for their time.
Here’s where we start: pretty much the farthest trip from Huntsville.
This actually doesn’t sound too bad, I hope he is right.
I think the denial of UAH has more to do about the health of some of the teams currently within the CCHA rather than anything negative about UAH in general.
